Water distiller reviews from customers who have used the Water Wise 8800 model water distiller were mostly positive. They were satisfied with the purity and freshness of the water. Some of the customers live in areas where there are simply too many minerals in the water for their liking and said they could taste the difference. The one repeated complaint was about the plastic carafe. Some customers were worried that the plastic would contaminate the water it takes the distiller hours to purify, or at least impart an off taste to it. Others claim the carafe is awkward to handle and always spills when water is poured out of it. Other customers complained that this countertop water distiller doesn’t last long and breaks down after two years of use or less. One customer's distiller broke down twice and when they sent it to Water Wise the second time the company didn’t even bother to fix it, but sent it back to them still broken. Other customers claimed that the distiller can be hard to clean, but this is a quibble.
The Bottom Line...
All in all, the Water Wise 8800 home water distiller comes well recommended. According to water distiller reviews, the everyday problem seems to be that the carafe leaks when water is poured from it. Another complaint is that the distiller doesn’t last as long as it might and is very expensive to ship back for repairs, which the company may or may not provide. The distiller does come with a warranty and is fairly expensive at $399.00. However, customers who are satisfied with the 8800 say it makes up for the cost of bottled water quickly.
